Appointments are necessary for dyno smog checks. All other smog inspection services are available on a walk-in basis without an appointment.

Standard smog inspections for model year 2000 and newer vehicles typically take approximately 15 minutes. Dyno smog checks for vehicles from model year 1999 and older require about 45 minutes to complete.

SOCO Smog Test performs smog inspections on eligible older vehicles, including those manufactured between 1976 and 1995. These older models may undergo a more comprehensive inspection process that includes additional emissions testing compared to newer vehicles.

Once your vehicle successfully completes its smog inspection, the certification is sent electronically to the California DMV. You will receive documentation verifying your vehicle passed the required emissions testing.

While your DMV registration renewal notice can expedite the process, it is not mandatory for completing a smog inspection. Simply bring your vehicle and any DMV documents you have, and our staff will guide you through the testing procedures.
